Course Hours: Thursday 9:20-12:10.

The main purpose of this course is to examine the origins and development of contemporary political concepts such as power, state, freedom, justice, equality, representation, legitimacy and so forth. This course surveys these major thinkers in Western Political Theory from the ancient Greek to the eighteenth century. Particular attention will be paid to the historical context of thinkers and concepts. The relationships and links between different conceptualisations will also be explored through the works of these monumental thinkers.
